Ms Despina Scutari

Despina Scutari is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with extensive experience in one-to-one therapeutic work. She holds a BSc, PGDip, and is UKCP, BACP, and BPC registered. Despina trained at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF), one of London’s largest and most respected counselling centres, and has worked with the mental health charity MIND UK, alongside maintaining her own private practice.

In her therapy, Despina provides a safe and confidential space for adults, offering both open-ended and time-limited approaches. She helps clients understand the underlying factors influencing unhelpful patterns of thought, behaviour, and emotion, with the goal of improving wellbeing, relationships, and social functioning. While exploring deep emotions can be challenging, she guides clients toward relief and meaningful change.

Despina works with a wide range of issues, including abuse, addiction, anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, low self-esteem, panic attacks, relationship and family difficulties, self-harm, sexuality and identity concerns, trauma, stress, and psychosomatic problems. Her approach emphasises forming a strong therapeutic alliance, accompanying clients on a journey of self-discovery to uncover the roots of their emotional distress and achieve personal growth.
