Are you Deborah Beard?
Deborah Beard is a psychodynamic psychotherapist at Nightingale Hospital in London, where she works with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. Her areas of focus include addiction-such as alcohol, drug, gambling, sex and love, and technology addiction-as well as eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder (BED). She also supports clients living with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), along with those experiencing stress, work-related stress, and panic attacks.
Deborah has experience working with individuals affected by complex mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, personality disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She offers therapy for clients dealing with anger problems, memory issues, phobias, postnatal depression, sleep difficulties, and self-harm. In addition, she works with people facing interpersonal challenges, psychosexual difficulties, and those navigating the impact of neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
After a long career in health and fitness education, Deborah retrained in psychodynamic counselling with The Counselling Foundation in St Albans and has worked in mental health for the past five years. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and remains committed to continuous professional development. She is currently completing a master’s degree in contemporary psychodynamic therapy and draws on her own experience of long-term personal therapy to inform her practice.
Alongside her role at Nightingale Hospital, Deborah runs a private practice and has worked in roles supporting patients and families at the end of life. She recently served as a Medical Examiner Officer for the NHS and previously managed volunteers in palliative care services. Her therapeutic work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to be heard and that seeking help is a sign of courage and self-worth. Deborah offers a non-judgemental, compassionate space in which individuals can explore the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of their well-being.
