Dr David Newby

Dr Newby is an experienced Anaesthetist. Their training included specialist training in paediatric anaesthesia and preoperative assessment. They have also co-developed a paediatric preoperative assessment service. Dr Newby has previously published work in a peer-reviewed journal. Their adult caseload includes working with comorbid patients who are due to undergo high-risk surgery. They are also very involved in the adult preoperative assessment service. Dr Newby has a great deal of experience in leading shared-decision-making processes, best interest meetings, and surgical pre-optimisation.

Dr Newby is a General Medical Council accredited trainer in anaesthesia and has a comprehensive understanding of the competency requirements for doctors training in paediatric and adult anaesthesia. They also hold an LLM, in which they gained a distinction.
