Dr David D White

Dr David White is a highly qualified Consultant Physician in Sport and Exercise Medicine who provides comprehensive care for individuals experiencing musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and exercise-related medical problems. With a patient-centred approach, Dr White aims to deliver accurate diagnoses, structured rehabilitation plans, and conservative management strategies tailored to each individual. Whether working with elite athletes or active individuals seeking to maintain their mobility, he is dedicated to facilitating safe recovery and helping patients restore their physical function.

Dr White has broad clinical interests that encompass the diagnosis and non-surgical management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. His areas of expertise include the management of tendinopathy, exercise-induced leg pain, concussion, and ligament injuries affecting the foot and ankle. Additionally, he provides specialised joint pain management through targeted injection therapy, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and advocates for prescribing exercise as a key component in managing chronic diseases.

Dr White completed his undergraduate medical training at Queen's University Belfast, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MBBCh) in 2004. He subsequently completed a Master's degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Glasgow in 2008. Demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence, he obtained his Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2014 and holds a Fellowship with the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FFSEM).

In addition to his direct clinical care, Dr White actively contributes to medical education and professional standards. He holds key leadership roles including Clinical Lead and Trust Speciality Training Lead, acting as a Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor for trainees in the field. He has served as a Lead Medical Officer and Senior Men's Team Doctor within elite sports organisations, and contributes to committee work aimed at setting standardisation guidelines for elite team care.
