Dr Craig Carroll

Dr Craig Carroll is a highly regarded Consultant Anaesthetist who specialises in providing comprehensive anaesthetic care for a wide range of surgical procedures. With a dedicated focus on patient safety and clinical excellence, he has developed a particular expertise in neuroanaesthesia, including pituitary and skull base anaesthesia, as well as complex spinal surgery. His reassuring approach and commitment to high-quality perioperative care ensure that patients feel supported and comfortable throughout their surgical journey.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Carroll is a prominent figure in the field of patient blood management and intraoperative cell salvage. He has held several key leadership roles, including serving as the President of the Neuroanaesthesia and Critical Care Society (NACCS) UK and as the Chair of the UK Cell Salvage Action Group. His work with the National Blood Transfusion Committee and the North West Region Transfusion Committee highlights his dedication to advancing best practices in transfusion medicine and improving patient outcomes on a national scale.

Dr Carroll qualified in medicine from the University of Manchester in 1993. Following his initial medical training, he gained valuable experience as a Resident in Emergency Medicine before embarking on specialist training in anaesthesia within the North West of England. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and an elected Board Member of the Association of Anaesthetists, reflecting his high standing within the professional medical community.
