Dr Clare Donnellan

Dr Clare Donnellan is a highly dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides expert, patient-centred care across all aspects of digestive health. She offers individualised care for patients presenting with a wide range of gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions, working closely with individuals to deliver effective, evidence-based management plans. Her expertise covers general gastroenterology alongside specialised management of complex gut conditions.

Dr Donnellan completed her initial medical education at St Bartholomew's Medical College, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc). She subsequently completed extensive specialist postgraduate training, obtaining her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree. She is an active member of professional bodies, including serving on the BAPEN Medical Committee.

With deep clinical expertise in clinical nutrition and intestinal failure, Dr Donnellan has a focus on home parenteral support and complex enteral nutrition care. Her sub-specialty interests also include inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic radiation enteropathy, and gastrointestinal side effects resulting from cancer therapies, particularly immunotherapy-induced enterocolitis. Dr Donnellan is actively engaged in clinical research, medical education, and national guidance development, remaining committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and treatment outcomes.
