About Dr Deven Vani
Dr Devan Vani is a consultant physician and gastroenterologist with special interest in Liver diseases and Inflammatory bowel disorders.
H sees private patients at Spire Methley Park Hospital. He specialises in advanced endoscopic procedures including flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and gastroscopy. His special interests are liver diseases and inflammatory bowel disorders. He has particular experience of performing complex advanced colonoscopies in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, removal of large polyps and in the endoscopic treatment of GI tract bleeding.
Dr Vani first qualified in India in 1990 before going on to complete an MD in general medicine. He then came to the UK where he completed his specialist gastroenterology training in Yorkshire and spent over two years at St James University Hospital working in the liver transport unit. Dr Vani has since held a number of consultant posts within the NHS. He started as a consultant Gastroenterologist in Pinderfields Hospital Wakefield in 2004 before moving to Harrogate Hospital in 2019. He has held various management posts including Clinical Lead in Hepatology, Clinical Lead in IBD, and Service Development Lead. He is also actively involved in research and has published a number of articles in the field of gastroenterology.
Dr Vani is also involved in medical education and regularly presents at GP education seminars and training events.
