Dr Charlotte Ives

Dr Charlotte Ives is a General Surgeon and Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals presenting with benign and malignant breast conditions. Recognised for her clinical precision and reassuring approach, she works alongside multidisciplinary specialist teams to ensure every patient receives a personalised diagnostic evaluation and management strategy. Her clinical practice spans the full spectrum of breast care, from rapid diagnostic assessments to complex surgical interventions.

In her clinical practice, Dr Ives specialises in modern oncoplastic techniques that integrate sound oncological principles with reconstructive surgery to optimise cosmetic and surgical outcomes. Her expertise encompasses breast-conserving procedures such as wide local excision and therapeutic mammoplasty, as well as total mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and axillary surgery. She offers partial and total breast reconstruction options, including implant-based procedures, tissue expanders, and flap-based techniques such as chest wall perforator flaps and latissimus dorsi procedures. In addition to cancer care, Dr Ives manages benign breast disorders, including mastitis, mammary abscesses, and complex breast pain.

Dr Ives earned her primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), before undertaking higher specialist surgical training in General Surgery. She achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery and completed a national fellowship in oncoplastic surgery. To further enhance her specialist practice and academic focus, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
