Warm and friendly reception staff and general friendliness from other staff. Clean and comfortable waiting rooms with tea and coffee facilities. Wait times varied and were never over long.

I was very impressed with the Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital. My only reason for giving an overall rating of 4 stars rather than 5 stars is that whenever I visit there is a lengthy procedure for filling in and signing forms, and I would have expected a higher degree of computerisation of the information that I am being asked to confirm.

I find the staff to be helpful and most important of all caring. In particular the orderlies and staff in the operating theatre kept close watch and responded kindly to any anxiety I showed.

Each time there's miscommunication between medical staff and the kitchen. This leads to delays in delivery of food.The kitchen staff make small mistakes and are very apologetic. The food isn't particularly healthy, but I am grateful for it (I have unrealistic standards for hospital food). Most of the nursing staff are very friendly and can answer questions. Sometimes I get the impression that there are many categories of staff at the hospital and i wonder how they all coordinate. I have a particular radar for communications between departments and I felt that there arent very clear systems in place to faciltate this. Otherwise, it is an excellent hospital.
