Dr Catherine Sharp

Dr Catherine Sharp is a dedicated Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. She provides comprehensive surgical management for patients presenting with both elective and emergency conditions. Focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Dr Sharp works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to support individuals through every stage of their treatment, from initial pre-operative consultations to post-operative recovery.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of procedures within general surgery, with a primary focus on minimally invasive techniques. Dr Sharp has extensive expertise in upper gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic interventions, and bariatric procedures designed to support long-term weight management and the remission of type 2 diabetes. She is also experienced in diagnostic investigations, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and transnasal endoscopy, offering patients comfortable and effective diagnostic options.

Dr Sharp completed her undergraduate medical education to earn her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree, and subsequently obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in a clinical discipline. She holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), demonstrating her attainment of high standards in surgical practice.
