Mr Euan Dickson

Mr Dickson carried out laparoscopic cholecystectomy (keyhole gall bladder removal). He was recommended to me by 2 doctors as a very good person to do this. He was excellent in terms of prior discussion of the procedure and risks, meeting me before and after surgery and follow up consultation. He has a very personable and warm manner with a good sense of humour and is good at putting you at ease. At the same time I have no doubt that he is a very careful surgeon who is very keen to minimise risks.

Mr Dickson is professional, informative and reassuring. Mr Dickson takes time to explain findings. I felt in very safe hands during my consultations.

I last saw Mr Dickson 14 years ago as I live in NL. He remembered who I was - unbelievable. I get nervous around hospitals and obviously ran my symptoms through AI beforehand, so I was extremely worried about my options moving forward! Never AI your symptoms lol. Mr Dickson put me immediately at ease and explained clearly and concisely a plan moving forward. Provided only salient information and no confusing medical jargon. He allayed any worries I had, assuaged any doubts and I will genuinely sleep well tonight for the first time in a long time. NB: the whole process from reception to leaving etc was first class. Very clear regarding options available with my issue and understanding

Mr Dickson was excellent. His communication was very clear and reassuring. He went into exactly the right level of detail. My operation went exactly as planned and the follow up care was also fantastic.

My experience with Mr Dickson was very positive I found him to be very empathetic, sensitive to my concerns and not only listened but communicated very clearly in a way that was both informative and reassuring. At a time of heightened anxiety it was very reassuring to be seen such a first class consultant.

Mr Dickson is an excellent doctor who I’ve seen three times now. Initially for a pancreas issue and later for a gallbladder and nuclear gastro test after my two Gastro doctors could offer me no further solutions. My nuclear test showed I have slowed stomach emptying which may help my daily symptoms after five years. I have seen many doctors over the past five years and always felt nervous and rushed. Mr Dickson encouraged me to take my time and listened to everything I had to say which made my overall experience so much better. If you have the fortune to be treated by him you will be in very good hands and will feel all the better for it.

Euan put me at ease straight away. He listened to my symptoms (and fears) empathetically, whilst guiding the consultation expertly, to extract the important information. He clearly explained what might be going on and came up with an action plan, which was very reassuring. I really felt he was ‘seeing’ me as a whole person and not just my symptoms. I would have no hesitation in recommending a consultation with Euan, if you have any symptoms in his field of expertise.
