Dr Catherine Dalton

Dr Catherine Dalton is a Consultant Neurologist who specialises in neurorehabilitation, spasticity management, and adult neuro-disability. Providing compassionate and individualised care, she works closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patients living with complex long-term neurological conditions. Her clinical focus encompasses the ongoing management and functional restoration for individuals affected by brain injuries, functional neurological disorders, and chronic neuro-disabilities.

Dr Dalton completed her medical degree at The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1995. She subsequently undertook extensive postgraduate research and training, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2005 focused on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies in multiple sclerosis, followed by completing her Specialty Certificate Examination in Neurology in 2010. Recognised for her clinical contributions, she has received research awards from international bodies and served as a reviewer for national clinical studies into chronic neuro-disability and adolescent healthcare transition. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and holds active memberships with the Association of British Neurologists and the British Society of Rehabilitation Medicine.

In her clinical practice, Dr Dalton leads specialised multi-professional clinics designed to deliver targeted interventions for movement disorders and complex physical impairment. Her expertise includes advanced therapies such as ultrasound and electromyography (EMG) guided botulinum toxin injections, intrathecal baclofen therapy, phenol injections, and therapeutic nerve blocks. Through a patient-centred approach, Dr Dalton aims to optimise mobility, relieve spasticity, and enhance overall quality of life for every individual under her care.
