Dr Carla Swift

Dr Carla Swift is a Consultant Gastroenterologist who provides dedicated, patient-centred care for individuals presenting with digestive tract and hepatobiliary conditions. With an objective and reassuring clinical manner, Dr Swift works alongside each patient to thoroughly investigate symptoms, deliver accurate diagnoses, and establish personalised treatment strategies designed to support long-term gut health and personal wellbeing.

Within her clinical practice, Dr Swift manages a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. She serves as Clinical Lead for Nutrition, overseeing complex nutritional care and support for patients requiring specialised dietary intervention. Her areas of expertise include advanced diagnostic modalities such as small bowel capsule endoscopy, which allows for precise, minimally invasive visual investigation of the small intestine.

Dr Swift completed her primary medical degree at the University of Keele, graduating in 2012. She went on to undertake extensive postgraduate medical training within the East of England deanery, successfully completing her higher Specialty training in Gastroenterology in 2022. Dr Swift is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education, highlighting her dedication to high standards of patient care and ongoing medical education.
