About Dr Brian McClements

Dr McClements graduated in Medicine in 1985 and trained in Cardiology in N. Ireland until 1994. He also completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Massachussetts General Hospital Boston, USA (1994-95). He has over 28 years experience as a consultant Cardiologist in Belfast working at the Mater Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital.

He has presented numerous papers and has publications on topics including arrhythmia prediction after myocardial infarction (heart attack), assessment of chest pain and direct access treadmil and echocardiography services.

His interests in cardiology are broad and include cardiac imaging (echocardiography), coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure.

He is a Fellow of the College of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, London) and Ireland (FRCPI).

He is a member of various societies including the British Cardiovascular Society, Irish Cardiac Society and the British Society of Echocardiography.

He is married to Judith and has one son, Andrew. In his leisure time he enjoys travel, walking and cycling holidays
