Dr Jack Andrews is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with extensive experience in complex coronary intervention and advanced cardiac procedures. He graduated from University of Dundee Medical School in 2010 with first-class honours and completed foundation training as a house officer in Dundee and NHS Fife.
He undertook specialist cardiology training in Edinburgh between 2014 and 2022, during which he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship and completed a PhD with the University of Edinburgh. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in leading medical journals, including The Lancet and Nature, and has presented his research internationally.
Dr Andrews completed subspecialist training in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) in Edinburgh. He further undertook a fellowship in complex and Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) PCI at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He was appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Altnagelvin Area Hospital in October 2023 and serves as Cath Lab Lead for the Western Health and Social Care Trust. He has established a dedicated CTO PCI programme in the north-west of Ireland for the management of complex coronary disease.
