Dr Gavin Thomas

Dr Gavin Thomas is an experienced cardiologist with a special interest in interventional cardiology. He completed his medical degree from Queen's University, Belfast and undertook his postgraduate training in Northern Ireland. This was followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Dr Thomas is also a postgraduate doctorate recipient for his research into novel biomarkers and imaging in the assessment and management of patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with connective tissue disease. 

Dr Thomas has clinical interests in a range of cardiac conditions including general cardiology, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm management, heart failure assessment and management, hypertension, valvular heart disease, inherited and familial cardiac conditions, and pulmonary hypertension.

Dr Thomas works across the Ulster, Royal Victoria, and Lagan Valley Hospitals in all areas of adult cardiology, with a special interest in chest pain management and coronary intervention. He provides treatment such as coronary angioplasty and stent insertion. His expertise and commitment to patient care make him a highly respected and sought-after specialist in his field.
