Dr Barry Slater is an experienced Consultant General Surgeon dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care for a wide range of surgical conditions. Taking a patient-centred approach, he offers comprehensive evaluations and personalised treatment plans designed to achieve the best possible outcomes for every individual. His clinical practice focuses on clear communication, thorough diagnostic assessments, and evidence-based surgical interventions.

In his daily clinical work, Dr Slater specialises in lower gastrointestinal surgery and diagnostic procedure pathways. He holds a particular clinical interest in the comprehensive investigation and management of pelvic floor dysfunction, supporting patients who experience complex functional disorders. Additionally, he routinely performs colonoscopy procedures and anorectal physiology studies to diagnose and manage various lower gastrointestinal health concerns.

Dr Slater completed his foundational medical training, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). To further advance his surgical expertise, he undertook rigorous post-graduate examinations, earning Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS England) as well as Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Edinburgh).
