Dr Baqer Sharif

Dr Baqer Sharif is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Surgeon specialising in the surgical management of infants, children, and adolescents. With a clinical focus on delivering safe, effective, and empathetic care, Dr Sharif works closely with young patients and their families to navigate complex medical conditions. His approach combines advanced surgical expertise with a compassionate bedside manner, ensuring that parents are supported at every step of their child's treatment plan.

In his clinical practice, Dr Sharif focuses on paediatric surgical oncology and the management of rare conditions such as congenital hyperinsulinism. His surgical repertoire encompasses a wide array of procedures, ranging from routine day-case surgery to complex neonatal interventions and minimally invasive techniques. He also possesses expertise in vascular access procedures, including central venous catheter insertion and the management of long-term line complications in young patients.

Dr Sharif completed his undergraduate medical degree (MBChB) before undergoing rigorous postgraduate training in Paediatric Surgery. He subsequently attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Paediatric Surgery. As a fully registered practitioner on the General Medical Council Specialist Register, he actively contributes to clinical research and multi-centre studies aimed at refining surgical techniques and improving long-term outcomes for children.

To deliver holistic care, Dr Sharif collaborates within multidisciplinary teams alongside Paediatric Oncologists, Endocrinologists, Radiologists, and Specialist Nurses.
