Dr Aravinth Murugananthan

Dr Aravinth Murugananthan is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing complex digestive health conditions. With a strong commitment to clinical excellence and evidence-based medicine, he delivers thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored management plans. Dr Murugananthan works closely with patients to ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their diagnostic and treatment journeys.

His clinical expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders, with specialised focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), bowel cancer screening, and clinical immunology. As a skilled Endoscopist, Dr Murugananthan regularly performs key endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (gastroscopy), and advanced polypectomy. His work in bowel cancer screening and endoscopic haemostasis reflects a dedication to early detection, disease prevention, and high-quality therapeutic intervention.

Dr Murugananthan earned his medical degree (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Murugananthan holds an honorary academic Professorship in Gastroenterology and serves as an assessor for the Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG), playing an active role in setting national standards for endoscopy training and clinical quality assurance.
