Dr Antonia McBride

Dr Antonia McBride is a Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in paediatric respiratory medicine and paediatric sleep disorders. She provides compassionate, family-centred care for infants, children, and young people facing a wide spectrum of acute and chronic breathing difficulties. Committed to improving the daily quality of life for young patients, Dr McBride works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualised treatment plans tailored to each child's unique health needs.

Dr McBride graduated from the University of Manchester in 2007, earning dual degrees in Medicine and Healthcare Ethics and Law. She subsequently completed higher specialist training in paediatric respiratory medicine. Demonstrating a strong interest in medical governance and bioethics, she also served as a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Ethics and Law Advisory Group.

Her clinical practice covers a comprehensive range of paediatric respiratory conditions, with a focus on long-term ventilation and non-invasive breathing support. Dr McBride has expertise in managing children with complex respiratory complications secondary to neurodisability, as well as those presenting with difficult asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, and interstitial lung disease. Furthermore, she evaluates paediatric sleep disorders, including sleep-disordered breathing, insomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders, utilising diagnostic investigations such as cardiorespiratory sleep studies and paediatric bronchoscopy.
