Dr Anthony Penn

Dr Anthony Penn is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Oncologist and Paediatrician specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of children, adolescents, and young adults with oncological and haematological conditions. Committed to delivering reassuring, patient-focused care, he works closely with young patients and their families to navigate complex diagnoses with clarity and compassion.

In his clinical practice, Dr Penn focuses on paediatric oncology as well as teenage and young adult cancer care. His clinical interests include childhood brain tumours, rare paediatric malignancies, and complex conditions such as Langerhans cell histiocytosis. He provides access to advanced therapeutic options, including targeted molecular treatments, stem cell transplantation, and innovative gene therapies such as CAR-T cell therapy. In addition to active cancer treatment, Dr Penn emphasises holistic supportive care, psychosocial well-being, and late-effects monitoring to optimise health-related quality of life for long-term cancer survivors.

Dr Penn completed his primary medical qualification at the University of the Witwatersrand. Demonstrating a sustained commitment to patient-centred research, he also conducted postgraduate research at the institution evaluating health-related quality of life in children diagnosed with and treated for primary brain tumours. Dr Penn remains actively involved in collaborative clinical research and medical education initiatives focused on refining treatment protocols and improving outcomes for young cancer patients.
