From the very first consultation, Mr Healy showed outstanding compassion and professionalism that instantly put me at ease. He explained everything clearly and simply—never rushed or clinical—helping me feel informed and confident about my care plan. Throughout my treatment every question was met with kindness and clarity, easing the stress of the experience. The aftercare was just as impressive. I felt truly supported and walked away not only healed, but grateful—knowing I had received the best care possible. Thank you, Mr Healy, for turning a daunting journey into one that felt safe.

Mr Healey successfully removed my gallbladder and a large stone that was blocking it. From start to finish he was exceptional on all fronts. The issue restricted my food intake, and caused me a lot of pain, but the swift surgical removal has returned my quality of life, and my relationship with my cheesemonger.

Pancreatic Cancer Surgery

Although the surgery went extremely well and made a huge difference to my daily life, I was left for a year awaiting surgery on which time I experienced excruciating debilitating pain on a weekly basis throughout. I was pregnant and the pain was so severe I could barely get downstairs, I had to cut my hours at work by half and was unable to make it in to the office. When I was able to make it to hospital (which happened on a weekly basis) I found that I was constantly placed in labour wards where no member of staff understood my pain/ symptoms or medication. My husband had to quit his job to look after both myself and my newborn as I could not lift him and spent most of the year laying in baths for up to 18 hours with absolutely no relief no matter what medication I took. I was given mixed information regarding medication and was treated like a drug addict by my local Dr when I asked for repeat prescriptions. I do not feel as though I was taken seriously, my pain was taken seriously. I am now awaiting an appointment with my Dr to see whether I have PTSD due to the pain I experienced, my pregnancy and first couple of months of my babies life were stolen from me. I mentioned each time I was in hospital that Dr Healy was in charge of my case but did not hear from him at all throughout the year. Due to the amount of morphine I was on throughout the year, I had to stay in the hospital after my baby was born (at 4lb 14oz) for 3 days to ensure he did not have withdrawal symptoms.

I am so sorry to hear you felt this about your experience. As you know we first met when you are 12 weeks pregnant and I explained the complexity of managing pancreatitis in pregnancy and how (as endoscopic surgeons) we could not perform the procedure until you had delivered your baby. We had to be guided by the obstetricians who appropriately referred your complex symptom management to the specialist pain team. Its such a shame you felt this in hindsight, but I was delighted that your symptoms have resolved after the procedure and hope you can look forward and enjoy parenthood painfree.
