Dr Amanda Hughes is a distinguished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who serves as Clinical Director of Endoscopy. She is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide spectrum of digestive diseases and liver conditions. Known for her approachable and reassuring manner, Dr Hughes works closely with her patients to ensure they feel fully supported and informed throughout their consultation, investigation, and treatment process.

Her clinical practice covers the assessment and management of complex gastrointestinal and hepatological disorders, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, reflux and ulcer disease, functional bowel disorders, and liver conditions. As an expert Endoscopist, Dr Hughes performs a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and innovative transnasal endoscopy. She has been instrumental in introducing advanced endoscopic technologies and expanding clinical services to facilitate early diagnosis and enhance patient comfort.

Dr Hughes completed comprehensive higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. She holds full specialist registration on the General Medical Council register and maintains Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
