Dr Alka Desai

Dr Alka Desai is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist who provides compassionate, expert medical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in both general paediatric medicine and neonatal care, Dr Desai supports newborn babies and growing children through critical stages of health and development. Her practice encompasses a broad range of paediatric services, from routine infant health assessments and the management of acute childhood illnesses to specialised neonatal support.

In her clinical work, Dr Desai possesses extensive expertise in neonatal intensive care, advanced neonatal resuscitation, and general paediatric care. She maintains a strong focus on clinical governance and quality improvement, ensuring that patient safety and high-quality care remain central to clinical practice. Alongside her direct care of patients, Dr Desai is actively involved in postgraduate medical education and holds a leadership role as a College Tutor for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, where she mentors and trains junior doctors.
