Dr Vijayakumar has a broad knowledge of paediatric neurologic conditions, especially neuromuscular conditions, performs a thorough neurological examination and connects well with child and parents.

We were urgently looking for a paediatric consultant neurologist for our 16 yr old son (per our GP's referral). I Google searched and contacted several offices but was unsuccessful in getting an appointment. Exasperated, I eventually came across Dr. Vijayjumar's profile, which had a telephone number underneath her picture. I rang it, expecting to be connected to yet another office reception, but Dr. Vijaykumar answered herself. I was surprised but she was very warm and friendly and asked me how could she help. I told her what was happening with my son and she stated that she had an available slot that same day and could see him. When we saw her, she had a very kind, welcoming, and approachable demeanour and was very patient and thorough with my son and asked him/us very detailed questions. She intently listened to everything we had to say, did not rush us at all and reviewed the GP referral and additional notes from his school we'd provided. She explained her suspicions about what could be happening with my son but shared that she wanted to investigate further to be sure to either rule or diagnose and promptly referred him to other specialists for further medical tests and investigations. We are currently still awaiting the results of these but felt that Dr. Vijayjkumar's approach was holistic in nature and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a paediatric neurologist.

Dr Vijayakumar is an exceptional clinician. Her understanding and explanations of epilepsies and their treatment is done at a level of excellence. Very supportive colleague, easy to engage and communicate with, patient and understanding.

Dr Vijayakumar, whom I have known as a colleague for a number of years, is an excellent Paediatric Neurologist and a supportive colleague. She is a thorough clinician and goes an extra mile to help children and families.
