Dr Alison Shefler

Dr Alison Shefler is a distinguished Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine who is dedicated to delivering exemplary healthcare to infants, children, and young people. Focusing on complex paediatric care and critical interventions, she provides expert medical evaluation and compassionate care to young patients experiencing life-threatening conditions. Dr Shefler works closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure that young patients receive tailored, high-quality medical support during their most vulnerable moments.

Dr Shefler earned her medical qualification from the University of Toronto in 1984. She initially undertook training as a General Practitioner before transitioning to specialised study in Paediatrics at a premier children's healthcare facility in Toronto. She subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Intensive Care across leading paediatric centres in Sydney and London. Alongside her clinical duties, Dr Shefler has actively contributed to medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, serving as a Training Programme Director and mentoring the next generation of Paediatricians.
