Dr Alexander Taylor

Dr Alexander Taylor is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care across all aspects of women’s health. His primary clinical focus encompasses minimally invasive keyhole surgery, gynaecological ultrasound imaging, and the management of early pregnancy complications. Dr Taylor offers comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of gynaecological concerns, including chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic organ prolapse, and menopausal conditions. He is committed to delivering tailored, evidence-based management plans that prioritise patient comfort, safety, and rapid recovery.

Dr Taylor earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Newcastle Medical School, qualifying in 1993. He subsequently completed Specialist Registrar training in London, developing expertise in advanced laparoscopic procedures. Dr Taylor was later awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree from University College London for his thesis on myomectomy techniques, alongside a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Dundee University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Taylor has held prominent roles in medical education and service development. He has served as a Training Programme Director and an Examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, contributing significantly to the training and evaluation of medical professionals nationally and internationally. Furthermore, Dr Taylor has been instrumental in setting up minimal-access surgical services as well as dedicated one-stop clinics for heavy periods and emergency gynaecology. His practice balances modern surgical innovations with open, reassuring communication to support every patient through their healthcare journey.
