I contacted Ali whilst abroad having dislocated my radius and ruptured ligaments at the elbow. He was able to give me good advice about what I needed to ask for locally, and arranged for an MRI immediately upon my return. He was reassuring throughout the recovery period that the ligaments would rejoin, and realistic about the time that this would take. He reviewed it a couple of times to adapt the brace and ensure that the progress was as expected, and has been happy to spend time in explaining the medical side of the injury and how the recovery would work. Thankfully, everything mended as Ali predicted. Unusually for a consultant, but not for him, Ali has been approachable throughout on Whatsapp and has updated me on the status of the scans as he has had the results rather than waiting for an appointment. I am happy to recommend Ali as a consultant in a similar situation - very competent, communicative, approachable and friendly - a refreshingly different experience from the norm. Thanks Ali.

I had lined up three surgeons to visit prior to having a complex hip replacement. Mr Jamie Griffiths was the first surgeon I saw, and I decided very swiftly to go with him. He explained to me in a way I understood, exactly what he was going to do and what I should expect. His qualifications are top notch, and I knew I was in good hands. He did not disappoint. Mr Sturridge was very pragmatic right from the start. He quickly assessed my hip and realised I needed a full replacement. But critically he also assessed the knee pain I had been suffering with for 5 years as likely to be referred pain from the hip. Mr Sturridge visited me in the afternoon after the morning op to check I was comfortable and to let me know everything went well. I was able to get up and walk a few steps with a walker that day. Within two weeks I was able to walk unaided without crutches and at my six week check up with him I was walking up to an hour! Mild pain was completely gone within a month and the scar is very neat and healed well. I cannot have hoped for a better outcome as true to his word the knee pain I have suffered for so long (and three knee ops) has completely gone! Thank you so much!
