Dr Wei Yap

Dr Wei Yap is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who provides compassionate medical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in both general and community paediatrics, Dr Yap is committed to supporting the physical, developmental, and emotional health of young patients. Dr Yap offers supportive, family-centred care, ensuring that children and their families receive clear guidance and comprehensive treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

In clinical practice, Dr Yap focuses on a broad range of paediatric conditions, with particular expertise in neurodevelopmental and neurodisability conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Dr Yap also provides assessment and management for general paediatric concerns, including asthma management, paediatric infectious diseases, and nutritional counselling. Working closely alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Dr Yap aims to ensure that every young patient receives holistic support and ongoing clinical care.

Dr Yap completed general paediatric training within the West of Scotland region before undertaking higher specialist paediatric training in the Wessex region. Dr Yap subsequently qualified as a Consultant Paediatrician and holds full registration on the GMC Paediatric Specialist Register. As a Lead Consultant in paediatric care, Dr Yap actively engages in ongoing professional development and clinical education to deliver high standards of evidence-based medical care.
