Dr. Shahzad Aslam

Dr. Shahzad Aslam is a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician with more than 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents, with particular expertise in paediatric neurology, neurodevelopmental conditions, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

He currently works with North East London NHS Foundation Trust, where he has served as a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician since 2018. His practice focuses on the assessment of children with developmental, behavioural, neurological, and learning concerns, with careful attention to identifying risk, understanding the child’s needs, and recommending the most appropriate support for both the child and family.

Dr. Aslam has extensive experience in Autism and ADHD assessment and diagnosis, as well as broader child development and mental health concerns. His approach is centred on thorough evaluation, clear communication with families, and multidisciplinary support where required.

He completed his medical degree at the University of Punjab, Pakistan, before progressing through postgraduate paediatric training in the UK. He achieved MRCPCH in 2012 and completed his CCT in General Paediatrics in 2018.

Dr. Aslam’s consultations are focused on understanding the child as a whole, including their development, behaviour, family circumstances, and support needs. He works closely with families to explain findings clearly and guide them towards appropriate interventions, educational support, and ongoing care.
