Dr Vishal Bhalla

Dr Vishal Bhalla is a highly accomplished Consultant Radiologist who specialises in diagnostic and paediatric imaging. He currently serves as a Clinical Director of Imaging, where he leads clinical teams and oversees the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Bhalla is dedicated to ensuring that every radiological investigation is interpreted with the utmost precision, helping to guide accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for both adult and paediatric patients.

His clinical expertise spans a wide range of diagnostic modalities, with a particular focus on paediatric radiology and general diagnostic imaging. Dr Bhalla is highly skilled in cross-sectional imaging, including computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as ultrasound. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong interest in improving the quality and structure of radiological reporting, actively advocating for clear, structured communication between radiologists and referring clinicians to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Dr Bhalla obtained his primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), from the University of London in 2008. Following his medical training, he completed specialist training in radiology and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). He is fully registered with the General Medical Council and is on the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology.

In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr Bhalla is actively involved in clinical research and audit. He has published several peer-reviewed papers on complex paediatric conditions, such as Lemierre syndrome and complicated sinusitis, as well as studies on technological advancements in radiology, including the accuracy of voice recognition software in reporting. His commitment to academic excellence and quality improvement ensures that his clinical practice remains at the forefront of modern radiological standards.
