Dr Usha Niranjan

Dr Usha Niranjan is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who provides expert, compassionate care for infants, children, and young people. Holding leadership experience as a Clinical Director, she specialises in acute paediatric care alongside sub-speciality expertise in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Dr Niranjan is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare that supports young patients and their families through every stage of assessment, diagnosis, and long-term condition management.

With broad clinical expertise in general and acute paediatrics, Dr Niranjan maintains a focused interest in managing complex paediatric metabolic and hormonal conditions. Her specialist clinical practice includes running dedicated clinics for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, thyroid conditions, bone disorders, and childhood obesity. She also holds clinical interests in paediatric haematology and oncology, allowing her to offer comprehensive, holistic support for young individuals with multifaceted medical needs.

Dr Niranjan completed her undergraduate medical degree, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in India, before undertaking her specialist Paediatric training in Sheffield. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is actively involved in postgraduate medical education and training governance, helping to guide and mentor the next generation of paediatric specialists.

Underpinning her practice is a reassuring and patient-centred philosophy. Dr Niranjan works closely alongside multidisciplinary care teams, including Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Paediatric Dietitians, and Paediatric Psychologists, to create tailored management plans for children and young people. She strives to empower families with clear guidance and empathetic communication, ensuring young patients receive holistic care that enhances both their physical health and overall quality of life.
