My foot / ankle operation has literally transformed my life. It has only be 10 months since the major surgery and every week i notice a small improvement. I keep building on this- week on week. I tell everyone how thrilled i am. I was warned of the risks and given frank, honest, professional advise. Best of all i was given hope. I am guilty of not doing my daily psio everyday and keep having to remind myself that i have to put the work in as well. My Hester has been brilliant. Lucy a joy to communicate with. Mr Hester is very personable and all communication open and honest. This made it easy to review all options and identify the right solution for my particular circumstances. I am 69 but still extremely active. Having rejected ankle arthrodesis 25 years earlier (when I broke my ankle in two places) and maintained an active lifestyle, the pain associated with, for example, motorbike expeditions, tennis and football was now limiting my enjoyment of these activities. Now 6 months of top-notch care after a very smooth operation, my ankle has improved to the extent that I can now push myself on those activities without pain and even re-introduce former pursuits such as running. Mr Thomas Hester is a talented medical professional. Yes - he is great at explaining things and polite - but most importantly, his surgical skills are top-notch. I literally could not be happier with the outcome of my bilateral hallux valgus surgeries. Having lived with low-level pain for over 2 decades, it has been incredible to be entirely pain-free within DAYS of his surgeries. As a keen athlete who quit sports they loved due to pain, I am beyond excited that I will be able to lead the active lifestyle I enjoy so much again. I honestly cannot express enough how grateful I am to him for using his talents to correct my joints - his foot surgeries have genuinely changed the course of the rest of my life. Dr Hester made himself available at very short notice to operate on my snapped Achilles tendon. The surgery was clean and very successful with near full recovery 9 months on (thanks to my physio also!). A positive experience if you are in the unfortunate position of needing surgery would recommend.

Tom was amazing. Practical, experienced, calm and thoroughly pleasant. He is excellent at his work and gave me tangible timelines and goals to stay focussed as I rebuilt my ankle and my life! Anyone who gets Tom as their surgeon is lucky - he is a safe set of hands who I would go back to in a heartbeat….but I rather hope I don’t need to!! Thank you for getting me back upright (and on my motorbike within 12 weeks too!!).
