I fell one Friday night and after a weekend A&E trip where I was told I couldn't weight bear for 6 weeks, I was referred to Mr Hester. He made himself available very quickly for a video consultation and got his secretary to warn me in advance that I would need surgery in the next couple of weeks because I'd told her I was panicking about how I'd manage, as a solo mum. On the call, he was extremely friendly and calm, put me at ease and before he even got into the surgery itself, brought up eBay to show me the hands-free crutch I should buy to make life easier. And, pushed back the surgery date to give me time to get organised with childcare. He and his office were always quick to respond to my questions, over the phone or via email. One Saturday when I hadn't acknowledged an email reply he'd sent me, he actually called to check I was ok. On the day of the surgery, the team could not have been more professional and friendly. I felt extremely safe in their hands. The surgery went well and x-rays at 12 weeks showed the fracture had healed. It was then left to me to figure out physio and recovery. I would highly recommend Mr Hester!
