Miss Syma Ahmed

Miss Syma Ahmed is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Lancashire, providing a comprehensive range of general and specialist gynaecology services. Her clinical expertise includes outpatient gynaecology, hysteroscopy, management of heavy and dysfunctional uterine bleeding, vaginal wall repairs, laparoscopic surgery, and the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She has a particular interest in the management of fibroids and is highly experienced in minimally invasive surgical techniques.

As a member of the British Menopause Society, I have extensive experience in supporting women through the menopause and perimenopause transition. I provide evidence-based, individualised care tailored to each woman’s symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals.

Miss Ahmed graduated from the University of Leicester in 2002 with an MBChB and holds additional qualifications including a BSc (Hons), MRCOG, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCert MedEd). Alongside her clinical work, she serves as the LTFT and Support Lead for the North West Deanery, contributing to the development and wellbeing of trainee doctors across the region.

She is a member of several professional bodies, including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Medical Defence Union, and the British Medical Association.
