Dr Susan Moug

Dr Susan Moug is a distinguished Consultant Surgeon and Honorary Professor specialising in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, she focuses on diagnosing and managing a comprehensive range of lower gastrointestinal conditions. Her approach combines advanced surgical technique with empathetic patient communication, ensuring that every individual receives a personalised treatment plan focused on achieving optimal clinical outcomes and maintaining quality of life.

In her clinical practice, Dr Moug has extensive expertise in minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical procedures. Her clinical interests encompass colorectal resection, bowel cancer screening, and the surgical management of benign anorectal disorders. Alongside routine elective and emergency procedures, she is widely recognised for her dedication to surgical innovation, prehabilitation, and optimising perioperative care for older or frail patients facing major abdominal surgery.

Dr Moug completed her foundational higher education with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in 1995, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) in 2000. Advancing her clinical research and training, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2007 and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2011.
