Dr Stewart MacLeod

Dr Stewart MacLeod is a dedicated Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Paediatrician specialising in the medical care of infants, children, and young people. With a patient-centred and family-focused approach, Dr MacLeod provides evaluation and management across a wide range of general paediatric concerns and complex neurological conditions. He works closely within multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver individualised treatment plans that support both the immediate and long-term health needs of children.

In his clinical practice, Dr MacLeod holds a primary focus in paediatric epilepsy, managing complex seizure disorders, genetic epilepsies, and infantile spasms. His expertise includes electroencephalogram (EEG) interpretation, video-EEG telemetry assessment, and the supervision of specialised therapeutic approaches, such as anticonvulsant medication management and dietary therapies including the ketogenic diet. Dr MacLeod also evaluates and treats children presenting with neuroinflammatory disorders, autoimmune encephalopathies, and chronic childhood pain, ensuring patients receive thorough diagnostic investigations and reassuring care.

Dr MacLeod completed comprehensive postgraduate medical training in General Paediatrics before undertaking higher specialist training in Paediatric Neurology. He holds full entry on the General Medical Council Specialist Register as a Consultant in Paediatric Neurology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr MacLeod is actively involved in clinical research and national guideline development aimed at improving treatment strategies and safety standards in child health.
