Dr Steven Mahan-Taylor is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with experience practising in both the NHS and private sector. Within the NHS he worked within specialist inpatient, outpatient, hospital, and community services; offering a varied experience and working with a range of different patients. He is known for his ability to form genuine, authentic, therapeutic relationships with his clients, which is vital to bring about meaningful change for them.
Dr Mahan-Taylor began his career in private practice in Bristol before moving to London and joining one of the largest psychology clinics in the country in 2016. In time, he became Senior Management within the clinic and became Operational Lead. In this role, he worked to support the effective delivery of clinical services to promote a positive experience for clients. Following this, in 2024, he founded London Bridge Therapy, a new clinic in the heart of the London Bridge area offering personalised, bespoke psychological therapy.
He has expertise in delivering several specialist approaches, including schema therapy, cognitive-Behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches as well as offering couples therapy in support of relationships. Dr Mahan-Taylor has a personalised approach, drawing on elements of various types of therapy to ensure each of his patients receives a bespoke session according to their needs. He does not use a one-size-fits-all approach.
Dr Mahan-Taylor specialises in adult mental health and has worked with individuals of all ages with a wide range of emotional experiences, including relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, loneliness, bereavement, social anxiety, eating disorders, work-related stress, health anxiety, and substance misuse.
He has extensive experience working with clients with interpersonal difficulties. He has a special interest in long-term, complex presentations and in working with clients who have struggled with their experiences for many years without finding previous therapy helpful.
