Mr Sri Thrumurthy

Mr Sri Thrumurthy is an accomplished Consultant Surgeon and Interventional Endoscopist specialising in General Surgery and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. With a dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, he provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments and treatments for a wide variety of abdominal and digestive conditions. His clinical practice spans traditional surgical techniques alongside advanced, minimally invasive endoscopic procedures designed to promote swift recovery and optimal patient outcomes.

Mr Thrumurthy graduated with First-Class Honours from the University of Manchester, where he completed his medical degree and qualified in 2010. He subsequently completed extensive higher surgical training across South London, followed by a dedicated Advanced Endosurgery Fellowship. Demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators.

With specialised expertise in therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy, Mr Thrumurthy focuses on bariatric endoscopy, per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM and G-POEM), and complex endoscopic mucosal resection for early gastrointestinal tumours. His practice encompasses the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gallbladder disease, abdominal hernias, and trauma, alongside routine diagnostic procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, stricture dilatation, and feeding tube placement.

Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Mr Thrumurthy is actively involved in surgical training, medical research, and academic publishing. He serves as an accredited Endoscopy Trainer, holds an appointment as an Honorary Senior Lecturer, and has edited several widely referenced surgical textbooks. Through his ongoing contributions to peer-reviewed medical literature, he ensures that his clinical practice reflects the latest advancements in surgical science.
