Dr Sree Rodda

Being diagnosed with high risk prostate cancer was a shock. After speaking to and making the decision to have brachytherapy and radiotherapy under the care of Dr. Rodda and the team at Bexley wing St. James’s hospital Leeds I have been very happy with care and treatment I have received. Dr. Rodda was always very kind and sensitive when discussing this difficult, often embarrassing condition. She explained things very clearly and offered advice and suggestions when needed. She was very reassuring and supportive.

Dr Rodda consistently demonstrates a rare blend of strong professional skills with a supportive and realistic approach to cancer care.

I've had appointments with Dr Rodda to review progress on my cancer treatment several times now. On each occasion Dr Rodda has shown a clear concern and interest in my feelings about the treatment, its side-effects and how these affect me personally. The sessions are unhurried, informal and fully explained. I never feel any time pressure or that I am "just another patient".

Lovely Lady, very caring and thorough, explained the whole process and answered my questions. Involved my wife in the process too. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was assigned to Dr Rodda in February 2026 following a high PSA test and subsequent Prostate cancer diagnosis. Dr Rodda is very amenable human being first and foremost, which is: a) quite rare when dealing with clinicians at that level, and b) exactly what you need when you are struggling with a worrying diagnosis and unknown future. You only need to look on Google to see her professional capability, but it’s her personable human touch that is so valuable at a time like this. She articulated the situation, the treatment and potential prognosis in a way that a “panicking lay person” can understand and absorb. During my treatment I re read a letter that Dr Rodda had sent to my GP. A couple of details within the letter I did not fully understand and felt concerned enough to call Dr Roddas office. Dr Rodda called me back within 15 minutes!! Then proceeded to explain the details I had not fully understood. Thats a service one would struggle to achieve in the private sector. A quick word about the wider cancer care community is also notable. The care and professionalism at Bexley Wing, where I received my Radiotherapy treatment was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble, I was always seen on time, there is a bank of nurses and registrars available for side effect management. The radiographers deserve a medal, they are very busy, but always engage in a friendly, empathetic manner. On my last day of Radiotherapy, even the receptionist took the time to acknowledge it by saying “so it was your last session today, good luck to you Mark.” That meant a lot. I was aware of Dr Sree Rodda’s clinical oncology knowledge and expertise in using the latest technologies but did not expect someone with such an easy manner and ability to make you feel relaxed and comfortable as soon as you meet her. Detailed explanations of treatments including what to expect afterwards were provided with care and empathy whilst actively encouraging questions and discussion to ensure I had understood everything clearly, making me feel very much part of the process of choosing the best treatment options. Her self-assurance and fully justified confidence are an absolute tonic, and I am completely confident that, whatever the future holds, treatment under the care and skill of Dr Rodda and her team will give me the best possible outcome.

After being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in November 2025 my wife and I first met Dr Rodda in January 2026. Straight away we both found he calming, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Dr Rodda explained everything precise, and clear showing us both my scans, and what treatment going forward I could have. There were two options Brachytherapy/Radiotherapy or Radiotherapy on its own. Although we did ask Dr Rodda her opinion on the best treatment at the end of the day it was my choice. I am so glad I chose the Brachytherapy/Radiotherapy a one off procedure followed by three weeks of Radiotherapy. All the treatment I received from start to finish went really well and all the people involved in my treatment were amazing! Dr Rodda kept in touch with me all the way through my treatment, and I always felt if I ever needed any help or advice she was more than happy to give this and was easy to contact through her friendly Secretary. I would just like to finish by thanking Dr Rodda and her wonderful team not forgetting all the other people involved in my care at St James Hospital. From the first time I met Dr Rodda I felt reassured and confident in her professional and personable care during a very uncertain and stressful time. She is a very experienced and knowledgeable medical professional. He explanations are clear clinically and yet easily understandable to a lay person like me. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend her as a oncologist of choice for those who need cancer treatment.
