Mr Srdjan Saso

Mr Srdjan Saso is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Cancer Surgeon at Imperial College NHS Trust. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of a wide range of gynaecological conditions affecting women of all ages, with a particular emphasis on treating both cancerous and non-cancerous pathology in younger women who have not yet started or completed their families.

His expertise in non-cancer conditions includes the management of common presentations such as fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, menstrual disorders, and pelvic pain. In addition, he specialises in complex benign and cancer surgery, alongside the advanced use of ultrasound in diagnosing gynaecological conditions.

Mr Saso offers a comprehensive “one-stop” clinic service, where patients can undergo consultation, ultrasound scanning, colposcopy if required, and receive a tailored management plan, including surgical options, within a single visit.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Saso holds an academic role as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology at Imperial College London. He is a strong advocate of translational research, integrating clinical practice with academic innovation to improve patient care. His research interests include gynaecological surgery for both cancer and benign disease, with a particular focus on fertility-sparing surgery and oncofertility, supporting women who wish to preserve or achieve future fertility.

He is also actively involved in emerging areas such as the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in gynaecology, particularly in improving the diagnosis of ovarian cancer, as well as the use of biomedical engineering in women’s health.

Mr Saso is a co-investigator in the UK Uterine Transplantation team and serves on the Scientific Board of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, contributing to global efforts to advance women’s healthcare.
