Dr Sean Strong is a highly dedicated General Surgeon who specialises in upper gastrointestinal surgery. He provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of abdominal and digestive conditions, combining advanced surgical expertise with a patient-centred approach. Dr Strong is committed to delivering individualised treatment plans that aim to optimise recovery and achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Dr Strong has a particular interest in minimally invasive oesophagogastric cancer surgery and advanced laparoscopic techniques. His clinical repertoire includes the surgical management of gallstones, abdominal wall hernias, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and Barrett's oesophagus, alongside complex care for cancers of the stomach and gullet. Additionally, Dr Strong performs upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and participates in emergency general surgical care, including emergency laparotomy, ensuring patients receive prompt and effective treatment when urgent care is required.

Dr Strong earned his medical degree from the University of Southampton before undertaking higher specialist surgical training across the South West region. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic medicine and clinical excellence, he completed a PhD at the Centre for Surgical Research at the University of Bristol and received a research fellowship award from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
