Sally Anderson

Sally Anderson is an accredited psychotherapist and drama therapist with extensive experience working in both the NHS and private hospital sectors. Since 2004, she has been facilitating drama therapy groups on the Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) programme at Nightingale Hospital London. Sally specialises in adult and older adult mental health, sexual abuse, bereavement, and forensic work.

Throughout her career, Sally has provided both group and one-to-one therapy to adult psychiatric inpatients in secure and open hospital settings. She has also served as a bereavement counsellor for five years and worked for four years with HM Prison Service as a counsellor and drama therapist. For the past seven years, she has offered individual and group psychotherapy to survivors of rape and sexual abuse, and she actively trains professionals to support this client group.

Sally maintains a small private practice, offering both short- and long-term psychotherapy. With dual training as a transactional analyst and a specialist in drama therapy, she responds flexibly to client needs, blending talking therapies with creative, expressive approaches. Her philosophy is that people can change and grow if they are committed to it. Sally provides a supportive space and practical tools to help clients recognise and shift unhelpful patterns, using creative arts as a means of self-expression and problem solving. Her current client base primarily includes adults with mental health challenges and individuals recovering from sexual violation, while she also works with those experiencing relationship difficulties, schizophrenia, anxiety, addictions, bereavement, and issues related to obesity and eating disorders.
