People work with me when they feel "stuck" in their distress, despite trying to fix themselves and working with various other therapies and treatments.
Here is how a client experienced therapy with me: "It is difficult to express just how invaluable Dr Ute has been for my development. When we began therapy, I was feeling extremely low and anxious, and throughout the past eight months, she has provided me with tools to not only feel better but also stronger and more kind and compassionate with myself. She has the ability to interpret how best to provide therapy depending on what has been going on in my life. Most of all, her injection of humour provides an opportunity to shed light on what can sometimes feel like only darkness. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone."
My clients experience low mood, anxiety, sleep difficulties and general stress. Many live with chronic illnesses and pain, disordered personalities, trauma, abuse, disordered eating, and ADHD. My clients face life-changing difficulties such as grief and loss, work issues, breakdown of relationships and life-crisis.
A client described it: "When I was at my lowest and in some very frightening situations, Ute was there as a moment of focus and calm during a tornado of awful. She helped me realise how serious my situation was and the implications of continuing what I was doing. She helped me see that the time really had come for me to genuinely pause my habits of destruction and horror and be kind enough to allow myself the time to heal. She assisted me in giving myself the space for self-kindness and reflection. She took no prisoners; there was no room for nonsense. She gave it to me straight, honestly and lovingly. I felt held in intelligence, safety and genuine care."
As my client, you receive your own tailored therapy, personalised to your needs as they arise at the moment. You will work with a therapist who is an expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Mindfulness-based therapies, EMDR and existential psychotherapy. Personalised audio recordings for relaxation, meditation and behavioural change training are part of your therapeutic journey. To work with me, I ask you to bring three things to our therapeutic journey: courage, curiosity and compassion.
My clients reflect on this therapeutic work: "Dr Ute has helped me in a life-changing way through her highly professional, sympathetic and compassionate manner. She has a wonderful way of encouraging me to dig deep and has helped me find a number of methods that help me find peace and calm within me. My experience with Ute has been truly life-changing, and I have been able to get to know myself much better and, most importantly, change how I see and treat myself. She has made me a stronger person, and I cannot thank her enough for all her support."

I have benefited greatly from Dr Liersch's help and have never felt demeaned or patronised while with her - a problem I've had in the past.

I had an amazing experience with Dr Ute, she is very kind and sensitive. Also she addresses everything directly, which is quality I appreciate.

As someone who initially got to know Dr Liershe as a university professor, I've always found her communication style very clear, thought-provoking and welcoming at the same time. During my therapy sessions, she offered a rare balance of support and challenge. Coming from a tradition of existential therapy, Dr Liersch actively encouraged me to explore the role of investigation and interpretation in the healing process. She helped me learn how to celebrate my aspirations and capacities while acknowledging my limitations. I could not thank her enough for her support, understanding and always positive approach!

Clear, supportive and understanding. Takes the time to listen and ensure she understands.

Dr Ute is fantastic, caring, sympathetic, and yet straight to the point. Her explanations are clear and showed a very targeted approach to me and what I was struggling with. Every week we worked together, Dr Ute took the time to see how I'd been doing, and tailor the session around that. I genuinely felt like we were able to get an understanding of one another, and that helped me tremendously with improving as the weeks went on. Couldn't recommend enough, I feel much more free from myself than before I started working with Dr Ute.

Her work with me in a small group at Chelsea and Westminster Chronic Pain Unit was transformative whilst done with kindness and patience. It enabled me to move away from my dependency on nerve pain killers which were affecting my ability to think and I successfully completed my masters as a result!

I was originally recommended to contact Ute to try autogenic training, and I started to work with her on this in March 2022. I quickly discovered she had many other skills to draw on and I went on to work with her on a number of deep-rooted issues until the summer of 2023. Over that time, she helped me return to a renewed quality of life after a long period of ill health, and also enabled me to find a level of self-esteem and self-respect that had eluded me throughout my life and work. In particular, I learnt to be much kinder to myself. She consistently, gently and compassionately supported me to move myself on from the place where I had been stuck for so long and to develop new ways of looking at things. Ute has the rare gift of not only hearing what is said but also what is not said. With her deep listening skills, she instantly picked me up on any remark coloured by old thinking and firmly challenged it. Some therapists tell you what you want to hear; Ute tells you what you need to hear. Along the way, she will remind you how far you have come and help you to recognise and celebrate it. I always looked forward to our sessions. Looking back on them, I remember not just the challenging work but also the laughter: Ute has a wicked sense of humour and an infectious laugh which stays with you long after the end of the appointment. I have no hesitation in recommending her to others.

Dr. Ute is professional and understanding. I found my sessions with her helpful both in the moment as well as since then.

Ute has been lovely to talk too, very understanding and provides very good insight onto otherwise daunting issues and situations.

Ute is very empathetic, professional and makes me feel very comfortable and safe during our sessions. She has my complete trust.

Relateable, instructive and entirely human is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Ute. I've had the pleasure of knowing Ute for few months now, during which we have worked together as colleagues and during which I have also trusted her enough to refer patients to her (who have said nothing but good things about their time with her). I am continually impressed with Ute's ability to challenge the mainstream psychology and therapy out there and truly regard this as a great asset when seeing clients. Ute's ability to make an individual feel entirely seen and heard along with her very friendly and comforting character is what stands out for me as a true therapist and why I will continually refer patients to her. She is very heartfelt in everything that she does and has only ever communicated her work with me through love, enjoyment and passion. If it is not clear - I highly recommend her.
