Dr Rosaline Quinlivan

Dr Rosaline Quinlivan is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatrician specialising in paediatric neuromuscular disorders. Dedicated to providing reassuring and expert care, she works closely with young patients and their families to deliver thorough diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive management plans. Her clinical approach relies on multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring that each child receives individualised treatment designed to optimise mobility, physical health, and overall quality of life.

Her clinical expertise encompasses a wide array of complex childhood muscle and nerve conditions, including Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophy, congenital myopathies, and rare metabolic muscle disorders such as McArdle disease. Dr Quinlivan has also been instrumental in pioneering structured transition care, supporting adolescents and young adults with chronic neuromuscular conditions as they navigate the progression from paediatric medical services into adult healthcare.

Dr Quinlivan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology prior to graduating with her medical degree (MBBS) from University College London in 1985. She undertook specialist postgraduate training in Paediatrics at London teaching hospitals and was subsequently awarded a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree by the University of London. She holds a Diploma in Child Health and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Alongside her clinical duties, she has held high-level professional leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the British Myology Society and Chair of the Research Committee for the European Neuromuscular Centre.
