Dr. Rishi Chandel

Dr Chandel is a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Dorset. He has an extensive experience in diagnosing and treating digestive disorders. 

Dr Chandel completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology at several hospitals across the East of England. He was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2016. He then became a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Hertfordshire, where he worked in both the NHS and private practice for almost ten years. His busy private practice across three hospitals provided extensive experience in all aspects of gastroenterology.

His NHS work included caring for patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and other serious digestive conditions. He also ran outpatient clinics, helping patients manage long-term problems such as acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), coeliac disease and chronic constipation.

Dr Chandel consistently received positive feedback from both NHS and private patients. In 2020, Dr Chandel was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (London). He continued to build his expertise in endoscopy and achieved Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist Accreditation in 2021.

Dr Chandel is also a JAG-certified endoscopy trainer. He enjoys teaching and supporting the next generation of gastroenterologists and endoscopists.

Dr Chandel moved to Dorset in 2026 and now works at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
