Dr Rhiannon Austin

Dr Rhiannon Austin is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in providing comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she is committed to supporting families through every stage of their child's development. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of paediatric conditions, ensuring that young patients receive high-quality, evidence-based care tailored to their individual needs.

Throughout her career, Dr Austin has gained extensive experience working across various tertiary children's and neonatal units, as well as district general hospitals. She has developed particular expertise in tertiary neonatal care, paediatric intensive care, and specialised paediatric fields such as renal, respiratory, and rheumatology medicine. In addition to her clinical work, she is actively involved in paediatric research, with a focus on paediatric asthma treatments, polypharmacy, and safe deprescribing practices in children and young people.

Dr Austin graduated from the University of Liverpool medical school in 2011, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons). She subsequently entered specialist paediatric training in 2013. She achieved membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2015 and successfully qualified as a Consultant Paediatrician in 2024, at which point she was admitted to the General Medical Council's specialist register.
