Dr Rachel Boal

Dr Rachel Boal is a highly dedicated Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Reassuring and professional, she is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for children and young people experiencing a wide range of endocrine disorders. Dr Boal works closely with families to manage complex hormonal conditions, ensuring that each young patient receives a tailored treatment plan that supports their growth, development, and overall well-being.

Her clinical expertise spans a broad spectrum of paediatric endocrine conditions, with particular interests in growth disorders, thyroid dysfunction, and pubertal development. Dr Boal has significant experience in managing conditions such as Graves' disease, adrenal insufficiency, and hyponatraemia, as well as supporting young people through pubertal induction. Additionally, she is deeply involved in diabetes transition care, helping adolescents successfully navigate the transition from paediatric to adult healthcare services while maintaining optimal self-management.

Dr Boal completed her medical training at the University of Manchester, qualifying with her medical degree in 2011. Following her undergraduate studies, she undertook extensive postgraduate training in paediatrics and sub-specialised in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and is an active member of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED), where she has previously served as a Trainee Representative.
