About

Professor Ros Eeles is Professor of Oncogenetics at The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London UK. She trained at The University of Cambridge, UK and St Thomas' Hospital, London. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Royal College of Radiologists (Clinical Oncology Faculty), London UK. She is accredited in Clinical Oncology and has extensive sub-specialist experience in Cancer Genetics.

Professor Eeles' oncological practice is in radiotherapy and chemotherapy for Uro-Oncology. Her cancer genetics practice involves cancer risk assessment, screening advice and management of increased cancer risk in adults for any cancer site. She is also an expert in how the new cancer genetics impacts on treatment decisions. She has edited a specialist textbook on Cancer Prevention and Screening which won the BMA Chairman's award in 2019. She is an author of over 500 original research papers. She has an international standing in Cancer Genetic Clinical Management and research, particularly management of individuals with mutations in the breast/ovarian/prostate cancer predisposition genes, BRCA1, BRCA2 and other genes and genetic predisposition to prostate cancer. She has been on several genetics advisory committees and edited the special edition of Familial Cancer: Cancer Genetics: New Ways of Working which reported on models of delivery of cancer genetics services.

She is a member of the learned societies: ESTRO, ESMO, ASHG, AACR, BAUS, ESHG, ASCO, BSGM and CGG UK

Her outside interests are Opera and Art.
