Dr Riyaz Shah is one of the most caring consultants we have met. From the very beginning, he has been warm, approachable, and incredibly easy to talk to, which makes such a difficult and frightening time feel far more manageable. He has a wonderful way of combining professionalism with genuine compassion. He explains everything clearly, never makes you feel rushed, and gives real confidence and reassurance during moments that can otherwise feel overwhelming. He is not only highly knowledgeable and efficient, but also proactive , he never wastes time when it comes to arranging tests or starting treatment, which means so much when you are going through cancer care. What stands out most is the respect and kindness he shows not only to his patients, but also to their family members. He always takes the time to ask if they have any concerns too, making everyone feel included, listened to, and supported. That level of thoughtfulness is incredibly special. The whole team at the GenesisCare Centre in Maidstone have also been outstanding. From reception to the radiographers and consultant's everyone is friendly, cheerful, professional, and efficient. The consultants secretary is lovely to speak to, approachable, and excellent at communicating. The centre itself feels calm, organised, and reassuring, I am deeply grateful to Dr Shah and the entire team for the exceptional care, kindness, and reassurance they have given me and my family. I saw Dr Riyaz Shah Last week who put me at ease from the beginning of the consultation he certainly know's what his talking about with this Cancer. I decided to have a CT Scan at the clinic on Monday which was excellent service, saw Dr Shah on Wednesday with results just 2 days. Having the Scan so fast stops the weeks or maybe months of worry and stress that you would normally go through whilst waiting for results. Genesis Care feels very calm and relaxed as soon as you walk into the building staff are excellent and kind.

It is always a pleasant experiance meeting Dr Shah for the consultation, despite the nature of the visit. The structure is generally clear and does well at providing patient confidence. To begin with, Dr Shah will listen to us and how we are feeling, how the treatment is developing, understanding and addressing any concerns we may have. All of this provides important patient validation which makes us feel included in the process. Dr Shah will therefore discuss the plan logically moving forward and why, and just clarifying we understand what everything entails. Discussions are open and are pivitol for my treatment, yet also for my wife Lisa, as we can feel confident in a realistic way what to expect and are to be addressing. As I say, all of our visits have been pleasat and comfortable.

Three weeks ago I had a malignant tumour removed from the pleura of the lung. It was localised epithelioid mesothelioma. The thoracic surgeon suggested I should see Doctor Shah. Doctor Shah was excellent at explaining things, pointing out the more important aspects of the various scans, explaining what had been achieved by the surgery, and what the possible routes forward were. I am a pretty demanding patient in my level of expectation, but he surpassed all expectations. He took so much time to answer a whole range of my questions, and he has a fantastic way of simplifying complex things, and communicating concisely. At the same time he was very understanding of my 'nervouseness/worry/stress'. He gave me a really good feel of possible outcomes, looking forward, likely risks, and possible treatments. We had a discussion, but I felt he really helped me understand, and listened incredibly well. In summary, an excellent consultant to have alongside you.

Dr. Shah, was excellent with his explanation of my lung cancer and the suggested use of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. He had a compassionate nature and we thank him for his expertise.

Dr Shah is always very clear and concise in his explanation. He fills me with confidence that he has the right plan. I like the fact that he is happy to answer any questions I have fully.

Dr Shah is always careful to explain his findings and is open to any questions that we have.

Dr Shah is always friendly and explains things very well. Always leave feeling positive.
